FIND, Inc. Adopts Newly Created Official Sexual Violence Policy
Storrs, CT (December 14, 2020) -- As a follow up to the Sexual Violence Awareness Workshop hosted by FIND, Inc. at the end of last August, the National Executive Board of FIND, Inc. has created and adopted an official Sexual Violence Policy. This zero-tolerance policy applies to any individual who participates in FIND, Inc. representation and FIND, Inc. events.
FIND, Inc. is committed to fostering a safe and comfortable environment in which all members of our community are free from sexual misconduct in any form. FIND, Inc. expects that all interpersonal relationships and interactions between members—especially those of an intimate nature—will be based on mutual respect, open communication, and clear consent. We will ensure that individuals known to breach the policy, will no longer be able to partake in any FIND, Inc. National or District events and will be removed from any incumbent leadership roles within our communities.
The National Team will work with district leaders to enforce the newly adopted policy and ensure that we are continuing to educate and support our communities. While we are not professionals on this topic, as student leaders it is important to stay informed and knowledgeable in ways to sustain a safe, comfortable environment for our members. Entering the new year, FIND, Inc. will continue to host specialized programs and roundtable discussions to better equip and educate the leaders of our communities.
