FIND, Inc. Condemns Violence in Charlottesville, VA and Promotes Unity Across the Network
Manila, PH (August 14, 2017) --
This past weekend, America was crippled by the acts of brutality and displays of hatred in Charlottesville, VA (District 7). FIND, Inc. extends our sincere condolences for all the victims during the events that transpired and how these events have triggered other forms of social, political, and cultural unrest.
These demonstrations of discriminatory action dismantle the American values of unification and understanding. As our country continues to grow increasingly divided, we must remember to take the stand against violence motivated by hatred and racism, while promoting dialogue and mutual respect for all.
“Whether you are within the vicinity of the protest, or hundreds of miles away, lend your empathy and reach out to those who have been gravely affected by these events,” stated Joseph Malasa, President of Organization of Young Filipino Americans (UVA -- District VII). As some of our organizations are beginning to start off the academic year, we cannot stray away from working towards solidarity within our local communities and our communities abroad. Let us all come together to ensure these tragedies are succeeded by displays of compassion and respect.
