FIND, Inc. Announces 2017 Fall Dialogue Theme and Logo
Pananaw: Unifying Our Differences
University of North Carolina - Greensboro
FIND, Inc. presents Pananaw: Unifying Our Differences on Saturday November 11th, 2017 in Greensboro, NC at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
Pananaw (pah-nah-nao) ⦁ The English translation of Pananaw is point of view. This year’s theme will challenge delegates to come to an awareness and react on the issues that have transpired between the intergenerational gap within the Filipino American community. During this dialogue, delegates will aim to recognize the differences between the traditional and millennial ideologies in hopes to gain a better understanding towards their personal perspectives.
By placing a focus on the different levels of Pananaw, delegates will unveil an understanding of their personal beliefs and be able to shift to familial views. With the goal of utilizing this newfound understanding of our differences, delegates will resolve those issues and channel a further connection to the community. In recollection, the issues that might act as a disconnector from the two ideologies aren’t definite, but can be used as an opportunity to come together as a Filipino-American community. This Dialogue will allow FIND, Inc. delegates to take each aspect of self, family, and community to unifying measures creating a stronger connection and in turn a stronger and more unified community.
The Pananaw logo displays the sampaguita and its leaves prominently as a representation of the National flower. The hands display the camaraderie between different generational standpoints coming together to lift up and unify our differences for the betterment of the Filipino-American community. The official logo incorporates a feeling of openness, solitude, and a peaceful serenity. In observing how natural elements reflect togetherness and life in harmony--and how appropriately such elements are mirrored in FIlipino culture.
